Terms of booking

These are the terms you agree to when you pay for a seat on the Egypt Solar Eclipse Pilgrimage, 29 July – 7 August 2027. They're written plainly on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask before you pay rather than after.

Who you're contracting with

Your booking is with TK Partnership Pty Ltd, an Australian company and the entity that receives your payment. Full company details, including our registered address, are available on request.

Throughout these terms, "I" and "me" means Kai (Barry Magliarditi), who facilitates the journey. "You" means the person named on the booking. Ahmed El Feqy co-facilitates and is not a party to this contract.

What this is

A ten-day facilitated pilgrimage through the temple corridor of Egypt, anchored by the total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027. Twelve pilgrim seats, held by two facilitators — fourteen in the tribe.

This is an experience of personal and spiritual growth. It is not therapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for either, and no outcome is guaranteed.

Applying and being accepted

Applying is a request for a conversation. It commits you to nothing and takes no payment. If the fit looks right we'll schedule a call, and a deposit is only ever taken after we have both confirmed alignment.

I read every application personally and I do turn people away. Twelve is a small number and I would rather lose a deposit than fill a seat wrong.

Price and what it covers

The founding rate is $6,600 USD per pilgrim, twin share, and closes at the end of 30 October 2026. From 31 October 2026 the rate is $8,500 USD. One rate is live at a time, and the date your deposit clears is the date that sets your price — not the date you settle the balance.

From 15 March 2027, any seats still open are sold paid in full at acceptance rather than by deposit and balance, because there is no longer a payment window before departure.

A private room is available for $990 USD on top.

What is and isn't included is set out in full on the journey page, and that page forms part of these terms. International flights to and from Cairo, travel insurance, visa fees, tipping and personal spending are not included.

How you pay

A $1,000 USD deposit secures your seat and is applied against your total. The balance is due in full by 15 March 2027. That date is not flexible: it is when we settle with our Egyptian ground partner.

Payment plans are available by agreement after your deposit, sized so every schedule clears on or before 15 March 2027. If you book from 15 March 2027 onwards, the full amount is payable at the point we accept you and there is no deposit stage.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details never reach us.

On your statement the charge appears as BARRYMAGLIARDITI.COM* EGYPT 2027 — my main business name, with this journey named after it. If you see that in three months and cannot place it, that is us.

Changing your mind

Cooling-off. Cancel within 14 days of your deposit clearing, for any reason or none, and you receive the deposit back in full. Tell me in writing and we refund within 10 business days to the original payment method.

After that, your deposit is non-refundable. It stops being a holding fee and goes to work securing dates, sites, the boat and domestic flights, all of which we commit to and pay for long before you travel.

If you cancel later, what we can return depends on when you tell us:

  • Within 14 days of your deposit — full refund of the deposit
  • 15 days after deposit to 31 December 2026 — deposit retained; any balance paid refunded in full
  • 1 January 2027 to 14 March 2027 — deposit retained; 50% of any balance paid refunded
  • From 15 March 2027 — no refund; funds are committed to suppliers
  • No-show, late arrival, early departure or any unused portion — no refund
  • Passing your seat to someone else is free and open until 1 June 2027. They must apply and be accepted on the same basis as anyone else. Any supplier costs actually incurred in the change are passed on at cost. Before you write off a cancellation, consider this first — it will usually recover far more of your money.

These are cancellation charges for a personalised service reserved for a specific date, not penalties. If you believe a charge is disproportionate in your circumstances, tell me and I will look at it.

    If I cancel

If I cancel the journey, for any reason other than your conduct, you choose what happens to your money. Either everything you have paid comes back to you in full, or the whole amount rolls forward to a future journey — Egypt again, or Bali, Peru, or wherever we are going next. No fee either way, and the choice is yours rather than mine.

I am not liable for flights, visas or other costs you have arranged independently, which is what travel insurance is for.

    Travel insurance is required

Travel insurance covering trip cancellation is a condition of travel, not a suggestion. It protects you, not me. Please also cover medical treatment and repatriation.

    Health, fitness and honesty

The journey involves walking through temple sites and over uneven ground, in real heat. If you can walk thirty to sixty minutes on uneven ground you are fine, and most activities can be adjusted.

Tell me about any health, dietary, mobility or accessibility considerations on the discovery call, before you pay — not to exclude you, but so it can be held properly. If you are currently in acute crisis I will say so on the call, and I will mean it kindly.

    Alcohol, substances and conduct

No illegal substances at any point. If your conduct puts the group, our hosts or the sites at risk, I may end your participation without refund. This has never happened and I do not expect it to.

    Photography

Photographs and video may be taken on the journey. Tell me if you would rather not appear and that is the end of it.

    Cultural protocol

We are guests in working sacred sites, in someone else's country, held by relationships Ahmed has built over twenty years. Where a guardian, priest or guide asks something of us, we do it. This matters more than any part of the itinerary.

    Your responsibility

You are responsible for your passport, visa, vaccinations and for arriving on time. We can advise, but the arrangements are yours.

    Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

    Your information

How your details are handled is set out on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms.

    Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Tasmania, Australia, and the courts of Tasmania have jurisdiction.

    Version

    Version 1.1 · 21 August 2026.

Changed from version 1.0 of 12 August 2026: the deposit is $1,000 USD; the three-tier price ladder is replaced by two rates and a paid-in-full window; the founding rate closes 30 October 2026; and if we cancel, you may now roll your payment forward to a future journey instead of taking a refund.

If you placed a deposit under an earlier version, you contracted on that version and it still stands.
